James Wilkins

James Tommy "Pops" Wilkins, 80, of Inman, SC, passed away peacefully on Sunday, November 19, 2017, at the Spartanburg Regional Hospice Home. Tommy was born May 15, 1937, in Polk County, NC, to the late Robert L. Wilkins Sr. and Sallie Moore Wilkins. He was predeceased by his brother and best friend, Robert Lewis Wilkins, Jr. Tommy is survived by his beloved buddy and wife of 54 years, Helen Greenway Wilkins; his loving children, Amanda Horton (Dennis) and Jimmy Wilkins (Melanie); his most precious grandchildren, Dylan and Makayla Horton; his sister, Florence Wilkins Walker; many nephews and nieces that he loved beyond measure; and his faithful companion, Bella. Tommy served two years in the Army Reserves and retired from Lyman Printing & Finishing after 37 years of service. He was a member of Cudd Memorial Baptist Church and enjoyed the men of his Fellowship Sunday School Class. Pops was "famous" for his many Snapchat videos with his one and only Baby Girl Makayla. He could always get Dylan to "laugh out loud" simply by bouncing in chairs. The joy he shared with his grandchildren and the pride he had in them was truly a blessing. How fortunate they were to have a godly, humble, and Sweet Pops as their role model. The family will receive friends 6:00-8:00 PM Tuesday, November 21, 2017, at Floyd's Boiling Springs Chapel, 4161 Hwy 9 N, Boiling Springs, SC 29316. Funeral services will be conducted at 2:00 PM Wednesday, November 22, 2017, at Cudd Memorial Baptist Church, by The Rev. Ronnie Norris and The Rev. Dusty Martin. Burial will be in Boiling Springs Memorial Gardens, 4081 Hwy 9 N, Boiling Springs, SC 29316.
