James E. "Wally" Waldrop, 73, of 125 Dogwood Lane, passed away at home while working on his El Camino on Saturday, June 6, 2009, and after a courageous battle with cancer. Born November 22, 1935, in Spartanburg, SC, he was the son of the late Horace and Gertrude Waldrop. He was a retired Veteran of the U. S. Navy, Dayco, and Tietex. Survivors include his wife of 30 years, Linda Jenkins Waldrop; three sons, Jason Waldrop and his wife Samantha of Lyman, Jordy Waldrop and his wife Danielle of Spartanburg, and Jefre Millwood of Charleston; four daughters, Cheryl Henderson and Roxanne Ballesteros, both of Chesnee, Jennifer Neal and Susan Mathis, both of Spartanburg; two sisters, Sara Crawley and her husband Clyde of Inman, and Rachel Woody and her husband Leland of Spartanburg; eleven grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; and a special companion, Charlee. Visitation will be 6:00-8:00 p.m. Monday, June 8, 2009, at Floyd's Greenlawn Chapel. Funeral services will be held at 4:00 p.m. Tuesday, June 9, 2009, at Floyd's Greenlawn Chapel conducted by the Rev. James Ellis Griffeth. Burial with military honors will follow in Greenlawn memorial Gardens. Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society, 154 Milestone Way, Greenville, SC 29615; or to the charity of one's choice.
