James Floyd "Super Chief" Robbins, 69, of Valley Falls, SC, died Thursday, February 6, 2014. Born December 31, 1944, in Spartanburg, SC, he was the son of the late Henry Floyd and Arlene Beulah Burnett Robbins. "Super Chief" was a good humored jack-of-all-trades, truck driver, security maintenance man, salvage expert, and a dealer at the Thunderbird Flea Market. He loved wrestling and was very proud of his Cherokee heritage. He was of the Baptist faith. Surviving is his loving wife of 48 years, Linda Mauney Robbins; an adopted son, Freddie Robbins of Spartanburg; his children, Sherry Ann Robbins Long and her husband Mike of Arcadia, and Daniel Mark Robbins of Spartanburg; grandson, Steven James Long of Arcadia; sisters, Betty Moore of Chesnee and Mattie Saphaconi of Orlando, FL; and favorite nephew, Lee Robbins of Spartanburg. He was predeceased by his brothers, David Robbins and Thomas Lee Robbins; and sister, Irene Robbins. A graveside service will be conducted at 2:00 PM Saturday, February 8, 2014, in Greenlawn Memorial Gardens, 1300 Fernwood-Glendale Rd., Spartanburg, SC 29307, by Dr. Ray Mullinax. Visitation will follow at the graveside. The family is at the home of Daniel Robbins, 7531 Jennings Street, Valley Falls, Spartanburg, SC 29303.
