James Price

James David Price, 74, of Roebuck, SC, went home to be with his Lord on Tuesday, March 17, 2015, at his home surrounded by family. Born July 5, 1940, in Spartanburg, SC, he was the son of the late John Price, Jr. and Sarah Ruth Bearden Price. A veteran of the U. S. Army Reserve, Mr. Price was the owner of Price Machinery with over 45 years of service, and later, was employed with Wolff Industries. He was a member of Mt. Calvary Presbyterian Church, where he served his Lord as a Deacon, Elder, and choir member. He loved grilling and fellowshipping with family and friends. He loved to race cars and was a mechanic who could fix anything. Mr. Price was a 1958 graduate of Roebuck High School and received an Associate Degree from Spartanburg Methodist College. Survivors include his beloved wife of over 50 years, Shirleen "Shirley" Price; daughters, Julie Price of Sadieville, KY and Allison Price Rhodes (Jeff) of Pauline, SC; grandchildren, Lindsay Martin Stevens (J. T.), PFC Dallas Martin, Alyssa Rhodes, and Kiley Rhodes; brother, John Price of Boiling Springs, SC; and several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by a brother, Phillip Price. Visitation will be 1:00-2:45 PM Saturday, March 21, 2015, at Mt. Calvary Presbyterian Church. Funeral services will follow at 3:00 PM conducted by the Rev. Richard Thomas, the Rev. David Sanders, and the Rev. Raleigh Lindsay. Burial will be in Greenlawn Memorial Gardens, 1300 Fernwood-Glendale Rd., Spartanburg, SC 29307. Memorials may be made to Mt. Calvary Presbyterian Church Building Fund, 1399 Walnut Grove Road, Roebuck, SC 29376. The family is at the home of Shirley Price.
