James Pinson

James "Jim" Brunus Pinson, 86, of Spartanburg, died Tuesday, December 15, 2020, at his home. He was born March 15, 1934 in Spartanburg, a son of the late Ferris Loran and Mary Susan Morris Pinson. Jim was married to the late Crealie Poteat Pinson. Jim was a US Army veteran and he owned and operated Jim Pinson Motors, Inc. He was of the Methodist faith. Surviving are two daughters, Cathy Mills of Spartanburg and Christy Pinson (Allen Bridges) of Chesnee; 5 grandchildren, Daniel Mills, Brent Pinson, Chandler Bridges (Alex), Calley Gray (Kyle) and Landon Bridges; and his amazing caregiver, Sam Hawkins. Jim was predeceased by his son, Brian Pinson and his sister, Nell Coleman. The family will receive friends from 9:30-10:45 a.m. Friday, December 18, 2020, at Floyd's Greenlawn Chapel, 2075 East Main Street, Spartanburg, SC 29307. Service will follow in the chapel at 11:00 a.m., conducted by the Rev. Fred Thomas. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to Mobile Meals, P O Box 461, Spartanburg, SC 29304.
