James Pierce

James Arthur Pierce, 79, of Spartanburg, SC, died Sunday, June 19, 2022 at his residence. Born February 15, 1943 in Norfolk, Virginia, he was the son of the late Benjamin Herman and Rebecca “Bettie” Mae Bray Pierce and widower of Linda Eugenia Pierce.

Mr. Pierce was a US Army veteran who founded his construction company, Pierce Enterprises, in 1972. He was a member of First Baptist Spartanburg, since 2000, where he served as a volunteer with the Missions Ministry and The Bridge at Green Street. He was a loving father and faithful friend.

Survivors include four daughters, Tammy (Tom) Hooper, Catina (Brian) Gray, Chanteau (Todd) Abblett, and Lucy (Steve) Sizemore, seven grandchildren, and five great-grandchildren.

Visitation will be at 4:00 pm, Friday, June 24, 2022 at First Baptist Spartanburg, 250 East Main Street, Spartanburg, SC 29306. A funeral service will be at 5:00 pm at the church, conducted by The Rev. Sal Barone. A private burial for the family will be at a later date.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to The Bridge at Green Street, 317 Green Street, Spartanburg, SC 29303.
