James Parris

James L. Parris, 90, of Spartanburg, SC, died Friday, February 16, 2018 at his home. Born February 19, 1927 in Spartanburg, SC, he was the son of the late Jacob L. and Stella Solesbee Parris. As a WWII veteran, Mr. Parris was retired from the Metropolitan Police Department in Washington, DC. He is survived by his daughters, Sherry Liming (Wayne), Tona Crocker (Pete), Luanne Wallen, Cathy Owens, Kelly Guerrero; son, Douglas Parris; 12 grandchildren; 18 great grandchildren; sister, Hazel Riddle; numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. Along with his parents, he was also predeceased by an infant daughter. A graveside service with military rites will be 2:00 PM Sunday, February 18, 2018, in Philadelphia Baptist Church Cemetery, 3119 Hwy 56, Pauline, SC 29374, by The Rev. Kenneth Cash.
