James Parker Jr.

James Preston Parker Jr., 70, of Cowpens, SC died Thursday, May 27, 2021 at his home. Born February 15, 1951 in Spartanburg, SC he was the son of the late James P. Parker Sr. and Mildred Mae Cody Parker. Mr. Parker was a retired machinery operator with Milliken & Company.

Survivors include his wife of eight years, Susan Whaley Parker; daughters, Karen Pennington (Larry), Crystal Parker, Breanna Cowart, and Molly Parker all of Gaffney, SC; son, Johnny Parker of Spartanburg, SC; step-daughter, Jennifer Kirby of Pacolet, SC; step-son Steven Kirby (Joy) of Spartanburg, SC; grandchildren, Brandi, Justin, Derek, Ashley, Emily, Timothy, Matthew, Trent, and George; great-grandchildren, Weston, Adley, and Vincent, and brother, Michael Parker of Cowpens, SC. He was predeceased by brothers, Larry and Ronald Parker and sister, Cheryl Ann Parker.

Graveside services will be held 3:00 PM Friday, June 4, 2021 in Daniel Morgan Memorial Gardens, 175 Cemetery Street, Cowpens, SC 29330, conducted by Bishop Steven Moore. Visitation will follow at the graveside.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society, 154 Milestone Way, Greenville, SC 29615.
