James Oglesby

James Franklin Oglesby, 84, of Cowpens, died Friday, May 6, 2011 at his home. Born September 25, 1926, in Spartanburg County, he was the son of the late Robert Lee and Timmie Gibbs Oglesby. Mr. Oglesby was a U. S. Army veteran of the Korean War, was retired from Foothills Family Pharmacy, and operated the Cowpens Drug Store for over 30 years. He was a member of Salem United Methodist Church, Cowpens Masonic Lodge, Hejaz Shrine, and the YMCA Health Club. Survivors include two sisters, Dot Moss of Greenville, and Margaret Jones of Spartanburg; a niece, Patty Ellis and husband Tim of Simpsonville; three nephews, Burley Moss and wife Ginger of Charlotte, NC, Terry Phillips and wife Deanna of Hilton Head, and Mike Oglesby and wife Maggie of Charlotte, NC; great-nieces and nephews, Adam, Paige, Dillon, and Cole Moss; Nicholas Phillips and wife Nikki, and Hayden Phillips; and Scott and Steve Oglesby. A memorial service will be held at 3:00 PM Sunday, May 8, 2011 at Salem United Methodist Church, conducted by the Rev. Roye Lynn Kulik. Visitation will follow at the church. Memorials may be made to Salem United Methodist Church, PO Box 160, Cowpens, SC 29330. The family is at the home.
