James Mason

James "Alan" Mason, 61, of Moore, SC, died Friday, January 1, 2010 at his home. Born April, 20, 1948, he was the son of the late James Thomas and Thelma Jean Wilkie Mason. Alan retired after 28 years with the Spartanburg Public Safety Department. He was a former investigator for the Spartanburg County Coroner's Office and a current Commissioner of Poplar Springs Fire Department. He was of the Baptist faith. Survivors include his wife of 29 years, Linda Sherbert Mason; a daughter, Heather M. Wilson and her husband Steve of Moore; a son, Kevin Mason and his wife Stacey of Spartanburg; three granddaughters, Brea, Haylie and Kendyl and one grandson, Mason. Visitation will be 6:00-8:00 p.m. Sunday, January 3, 2010 at Floyd's Greenlawn Chapel. Funeral services will be 11:00 a.m. Monday, January, 4, 2010 at the Chapel conducted by the Rev. Keith Davis and the Rev. Jerry Clevenger. Burial will follow at Westwood Memorial Gardens. Pallbearers will be the Poplar Springs Fire Department. The family is at the home. Floyd's Greenlawn Chapel.
