James Martin

James Orrie "Pud" Martin, 78, of Pacolet Mills, SC, succumbed to his brief struggle with Pulmonary Fibrosis Friday, October 21, 2016 at Spartanburg Regional Medical Center. Born May 3, 1938 in Pacolet Mills, SC, he was youngest and last surviving child of the late David Holt and Alice Mae Gibson Martin. Pud retired from Milliken, Tetra Pack. He was an avid pool player and dazzled many with his skills and humility. Although Pud never had children of his own, he was adored and will be missed by many nieces and nephews that he always treated as his own. Along with his parents, Pud was predeceased by five brothers, Billy, Johnny, Lee, Donald, and David "Tom" Martin; five sisters, Lillie Mae Allie, Mamie Louise Sullivan, Betty Martin, Evelyn Seals and Joyce Shehan. Graveside service will be 11:00 AM Monday, October 24, 2016 in White Rose Cemetery, 1156 Sunny Acres Road, Pacolet, SC 29372, conducted by the Mr. Preston Bennett. Burial will follow service. Visitation will be at the graveside. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be given to Mobile Meals Services, P.O. Box 461, Spartanburg, SC 29304.
