James Allen Mabry

James Allen Mabry, 71, of Spartanburg, died at his home. A native of Spartanburg, he was born on December 15, 1952, a son of the late James I. and Lois Grace Miller Mabry and husband of the late Pamela Sue Sprang Mabry. 

 

He was a graduate from Wingate College and USC Upstate where he received bachelor's degree from each collegeHe was a Nuclear Safety Officer with Duke Energy and Dominion Power. He was a member of St. John’s Lutheran Church, the Wednesday Bible Study, and the Lutheran Men in Mission. 

 

Surviving is his sister, Linda M. Wilds; nieces and nephews, Bobby Wilds, Vickie Sluder, David Hamrick and Mark Sprang. He was predeceased by a sister, Mary Gail Hamrick. 

 

Visitation will be from 1:00 to 2:00 pm Saturday, March 16, 2024, in the church parlor of St. John’s Lutheran Church, 415 South Pine Street, Spartanburg, SC 29302. Funeral services will follow at 2:30 pm in the church sanctuary, conducted by the Rev. Wade Apel and the Rev. Heather Apel. A private interment will follow in Sunset Memorial Park.  

 

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to St. John’s Lutheran Church.
