James Lowe

James Madison Lowe, 82, of 175 Stribling Circle, died Monday, June 29, 2009, at Spartanburg Regional Medical Center. Born April 24, 1927, in Spartanburg County, SC, he was the son of the late Samuel Judson and Ellie Lee Parks Lowe. He was retired from the U.S. Navy and was a member of the Fleet Reserve Association Branch 234. Survivors include his wife, Carmen Vargas Lowe; a daughter, Maria Elena Lowe Ivey and her husband Phil of Macon, GA; two sons, James J. Lowe and his wife April of Mayo, and Samuel H. Lowe of Spartanburg; and two grandsons, James Michael Lowe of Mayo, and William Madison Ivey of Macon, GA. Visitation will be 6:00-8:00 p.m. Wednesday, July 1, 2009, at Floyd's North Church Street Chapel. Graveside services will be held at 10:00 a.m. Thursday, July 2, 2009, at Springhill Memorial Gardens conducted by the Rev. Michael McCafferty. The family is at their respective homes.
