James Marvin “Hawk” Lawson, 72, of Spartanburg, SC entered his eternal home Tuesday, September 14, 2021 at Spartanburg Regional Medical Center - Mary Black Campus. Born October 14, 1948 in Spartanburg County, SC he was the son of Mary Ruth Fowler Lawson of Spartanburg, SC and the late Paul James Lawson.
Marvin was the former owner of Affordable Trim Shop and was the former co-owner of County Discount Pools. He was of the Baptist faith and attended Una Free Will Baptist Church. Hawk loved his family and dirt track racing. He was a great storyteller.
Survivors include his wife, Lynn Blanchard Lawson, his sons, Randall Lawson (Amy) of Roebuck, SC and Brian Lawson (Karen) of Chesnee, SC, his grandchildren, James Lawson, Kristen Lawson, Reese Lawson, Rhett Lawson, Kalyn Lawson and Brayden Lawson, his great granddaughter, Korra Lawson, and his sisters, Sandra Good and Kathy Owings, both of Spartanburg, SC.
A funeral service will be 2:00 PM Friday, September 17, 2021 at Floyd’s Greenlawn Chapel, 2075 E. Main Street, Spartanburg, SC 29307, conducted by The Rev. Roger Allison and The Rev. Kenneth Cash. The Committal service will be held in the chapel, due to the weather. The family will receive friends following the chapel committal.
