Pastor James Larson Hatcher, 87, of Inman, went to be with the Lord on Tuesday, January 18, 2022, at his home. Pastor Hatcher was born on December 20, 1934 in Ada, OK, a son of the late Ben and Ruth Larson Hatcher. He was married to Beverly Barber Hatcher.
Pastor Hatcher graduated from Central High School in Tulsa, OK in 1952 and from the University of Tulsa in 1956. After receiving a commission in the Navy, Pastor Hatcher served his country for 11 years. Beginning in 1967 until 2019, Pastor Hatcher faithfully served the Lord as a minister of the Gospel in Columbus, OH and in Charleston, SC, where he established Grace Bible Church in Mount Pleasant.
He is survived by his wife of 69 years and 4 children: Susan Hatcher Hutson (Cork) and Rebecca Hatcher Hopkins (Tim), both of Inman, SC; James E. Hatcher, Esq. (Karen) of Duncan, SC, and John A. Hatcher of Summerville, SC. Also surviving are 11 grandchildren and 7 great-grandchildren.
The family will receive friends from 6-8 pm Friday, January 28, 2022, at Floyd’s Boiling Springs Chapel, 4161 Highway 9 North, Boiling Springs, SC 29316 and from 1:00-1:45 pm, Saturday, January 29, 2022, at Grace Baptist Church, 1795 Landrum Mill Rd, Campobello, SC 29322. Funeral Service will follow at 2:00 pm in the church sanctuary. Burial will be in M.J. “Dolly” Cooper Veteran’s Cemetery, 140 Inway Dr, Anderson, SC 29621 at a later date.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Maranatha Bible Missions, 2400 Chandlersville Rd, Zanesville, OH 43701 designated to Southern Palawan Ministries or to Independent Faith Mission, PO Box 7791, Greensboro, NC 27407 designated for Larry and Carol Bunyan.
