James "Jody" Oliver Harbison, III, 59, of Inman, SC, died Sunday, August 3, 2014 at his home following a brief illness. Born September 20, 1954, in Spartanburg, SC, he was the son of James O. Harbison Jr. and the late Betty L. Harbison. Surviving is his loving wife, Leah Ryan Harbison; two daughters, Jamie Lea Harbison of the home, and Anna Mundy (Johnny) of Windsor; two sons, Michael Jolly (Cindy) of Lyman, and Israel Tedrick of Spartanburg; three sisters, Coleen Felty (David) of Spartanburg, Lisa Langdale (Ben) of Walterboro, and Kate Smith (Mark) of Spartanburg; and many loved nieces, nephews, and extended family. Jody was a graduate of Spartanburg High School Class of 1972. He was a drum major and enjoyed band. Also, he was a veteran of the U. S. Navy and was of the Christian faith. Jody was self-employed as a sub-contractor in the flooring industry and was a certified Flooring Specialist through Armstrong Flooring. He loved to collect coins and stamps, and loved marching band. He also enjoyed Friday night football, especially half time. A funeral service with military rites will be conducted at 3:00 PM Thursday, August 7, 2014 at Floyd's Boiling Springs Chapel, 4161 Hwy 9 North, Boiling Springs, SC 29316, by the Rev. Ben Langdale.
