James (Flop) Calvin Martin

James Calvin (Flop) Martin, 83, of Pacolet, died Thursday, April 11, 2024, at Southern Heritage Nursing Home in West Columbia, SC. A native of Pacolet, he was born on July 19, 1940, a son of the late James William and Blanche Bryant Martin.

He was a 1959 graduate of Pacolet High School, retired from Draper Corporation, served in the SC National Guard and a member of Pacolet Mills Fire Department and Rescue Squad. He also coached Pacolet Little League Football and a member of Brown’s Chapel Baptist Church where he was a member of the Young at Heart.

Calvin is survived by many cousins and many of his friends from Pacolet who have cherished memories of him.

Graveside services will be held at 11:00 am on Tuesday, June 11, 2024, at Pacolet Memorial Gardens, conducted by the Rev. Chip Coleman.
