James A. Fleetwood, “Jimmie,” entered heavenly rest on July 11, 2024, after a courageous battle with cancer. He was born on March 11,1960 in Seymour, Indiana.
Jimmie is survived by his cherished mom, Gloria H. Massey of Spartanburg and the love of his life, Caroline Pryor Fleetwood of Spartanburg. He was the devoted second dad to the beloved Cole Garrison of Spartanburg and beloved Stephanie Wood (Case) of Charleston, SC. He was the loving Grandpa to his adored grandsons, Case McKinley Wood, Jr., Beau Weston Wood, and James Tripp Wood of Charleston, SC. He leaves behind his loving sister and brothers; Nicolee Coggins (Dennis) of Irmo, SC; Brad Fleetwood (Anna) of Campobello, SC; Brian Fleetwood (Diane) of Bostic, NC. Jimmie was predeceased by his dad, James S. Fleetwood.
Jimmie was a dedicated employee at RR Donnelly/ LSC Communications and retired as a pressman after 37 years of service.
From an early age, Jimmie was a talented athlete. He excelled in baseball and played from the age of 8 through Dorman High School to Austin Peay State University. Jimmie will lovingly be remembered as an avid Tennessee Volunteer fan, skilled in woodworking, and lover of tools. Most importantly, he will be remembered as having a kind and giving spirit, being a friend to all, being always ready to lend a helping hand, and striving for excellence in all he did.
Born and raised as a Lutheran, Jimmie worshipped as a Baptist, along with his wife Caroline.
A private service will be held by the immediate family. The service will be conducted by good friend and neighbor, Rev. John Wright. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Spartanburg Regional Foundation- Gibbs Cancer Center or Hospice.
