James Everett Cook, 73, of Pacolet, died Tuesday, May 15, 2012, at his home. Born May 18, 1938, in Scott County, TN, he was the son of the late Everett Hurstle and Chloe Byrd Cook. Mr. Cook was retired from Union Camp Bag Company and of the Baptist faith. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather. Survivors include his wife, Claudine Cook; sons, Tony W. (Karen) Cook of Pacolet, SC, and Brian (Magen) Cook of the home; grandchildren, Shannon (Jessica) Cook, Tonya Cook, Heather (Jeremy) Patty, James C. Cook, and Victoria Cook; great-grandchildren, Devin, Colton, and Jacob Gant, Savannah, Emily, and Thomas Cook, and Chloe Patty; brothers, Paul Cook and Charles Cook; and sisters, Betty Troxell, Chlora Wilson, and Ina Cook. He was predeceased by his son, Roger Lee Cook; and sister, Etta Jean Cook. Visitation will be 6:00-8:00 PM Friday, May 18, 2012, at Floyd's Pacolet Chapel. Burial will be in the Cook Family Cemetery, Oneida, TN. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Gentiva Hospice, 430 Roper Mountain Road Suite E, Greenville, SC 29615. The family is at the home.
