James Cartwright Van Dyke, "Jim", son of Bill and Vernie Van Dyke, died in Spartanburg, SC on January 22, 2021. He is survived by several family members including his sister, Pat Lundervold, four nieces and one nephew. He is deeply mourned by his partner Lynn Jordan, and her three daughters, Lindsey Norwood, Paige DeWeese, and Whitney Dietz who loved his laid back and calming demeanor. He will be missed by many other family and friends. Jim was a member of AA for 35 years and was a committed sponsor and role model. He was a talented golfer and surfer. Some of Jim's happiest times were spent at the beach with one of his devoted four legged buddies and a coffee in hand. His masonry work, sketches, and guitar playing revealed his artistic side. Visitation with the family will be held from 1:00 PM to 1:45 PM January 27, 2021 at Floyd's Greenlawn Chapel, 2075 East Main St., Spartanburg, SC 29307.
