James Diamond

October 6, 1936 — May 7, 2014

James G. "Jim" Diamond, of Spartanburg, SC, passed away on Wednesday, May 7, 2014. Born in Viniani, Karpenisi, Greece, he was the son of the late Constantine Gus Diamond and Maria Alataris Diamond. Mr. Diamond was a member of St. Nicholas Greek Orthodox Church, where he served on the Parish Council Board and was also a member of the Evrytanian Association. He graduated with top honors from Greenville High School, received his BA from Transylvania University in Lexington, KY, was a member of the Pi Kappa Phi Fraternity, and received his Law Degree from the University of Tennessee in 1963. He was a corporate tax attorney and owner of Simplified Tax Services for over 30 years in downtown Spartanburg. His pride and joy were his four children. Surviving are three sons, James C. Diamond, Jr. (Stephanie), Steven S. Diamond (Victoria), all of Atlanta, GA, and Richard J. Diamond of Spartanburg, SC; a daughter, Angela M. Diamond of Seattle, WA; six grandchildren, Abigail Diamond, Cole Diamond, Samuel Diamond, Bobby Diamond, Jack Diamond, and Graham Diamond; and his beloved sister, Helen D. Campbell (Leon) of Spartanburg, SC. Visitation will be 10:00-10:45 AM Wednesday, May 14, 2014, at St. Nicholas Greek Orthodox Church, 697 Asheville Hwy, Spartanburg, SC 29303. Funeral services will follow at 11:00 AM at the church, conducted by the Rev. George F. Nayfa. Burial will be in Greenlawn Memorial Gardens, 1300 Fernwood-Glendale Rd., Spartanburg, SC 29307.
