James "Jimmy" Franklin Cromer, 74, of Pacolet, died Sunday, September 23, 2012, at his home. Born September 9, 1938, in Spartanburg County, he was the son of the late Levi Newton and Florence Elsie Campbell Cromer. Mr. Cromer was a U. S. Army veteran, retired from Hoechst Fibers, and of the Baptist faith. Surviving are his wife, Doris Ann Sprouse Cromer; sons, Scott Cromer and wife Vickie of Pacolet, SC, and Frankie Cody of Spartanburg, SC; grandchildren, Brianna, Leanna, and Nathaniel; sisters, Sarah Rollins of Spartanburg, SC, Judy McLyea of Woodruff, SC, Nancy Hill of Camp Croft, SC, and Linda Ellison of Spartanburg, SC; and brothers, Raymond Cromer of Boiling Springs, SC, and Dennis Cromer of Fairforest, SC. Visitation will be 1:30-2:30 PM Wednesday, September 26, 2012, at Floyd's Greenlawn Chapel. A graveside service will follow at 3:00 PM in Greenlawn Memorial Gardens, conducted by the Rev. Brent Powell. The family is at the home of Vickie and Scott Cromer.
