James Brannon

James Earl Brannon, 94, of Spartanburg, SC, died Saturday, March 27, 2021 at Spartanburg Regional Hospice Home. Born May 14, 1926 in Inman, SC, he was the son of the late James Herbert and Lillian Sandifer Brannon and the husband to the late Sophie Sherard Brannon. Mr. Brannon attended Spartanburg Methodist College until being drafted and serving in the U.S. Army Air Corp. during WWII. Following the war, he completed his college education at Wofford College. James was an Office Manager at Draper Corporation. He was a longtime member at Bethel United Methodist Church where he was an Usher. Survivors include his daughters, Sherry B. Edmonds (Louis) of Georges Mills, NH, grandchildren, Jennifer Roper (Colin), David Edmonds, Robert Brannon (Lisa), great-grandchildren, Reagan Roper, Harper Roper, Matthew Brannon, Andrew Brannon and Jack Brannon, and his longtime companion, Nancy Tuck. He was also predeceased by his son, James Hale Brannon. A Memorial service will be held at a later date. Private entombment will be held in Greenlawn Memorial Gardens Heritage Chapel Mausoleum, 1300 Fernwood-Glendale Road, Spartanburg, SC 29307.
