James Richard Belch, Sr., 77, of Boiling Springs, SC, died Thursday, October 11, 2012, at Spartanburg Hospital for Restorative Care. Born December 31, 1934, in Spartanburg, he was the son of the late James Vell Belch and Sara Ann Petty Belch. A veteran of the U. S. Army National Guard, Mr. Belch was retired from Smith Drug Company, and of the Baptist faith. He was the last surviving member of his immediate family. Surviving are his wife, Sandra Lynn Belch; children, Debby Dixon and husband Jim and Wayne Chapman and wife Sherry, all of Spartanburg, and Ricky Belch of Texas; seven grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; very special friend, Nyoka Teal of Spartanburg; and his loving dog, Neely. He was predeceased by a daughter, Beth Ramsey; and sisters, Maxine Hopper and Doris Painter. Visitation will be 6:00-8:00 PM Friday, October 12, 2012, at Floyd's Boiling Springs Chapel. A cryptside service will be conducted at 2:00 PM Saturday, October 13, 2012, in Good Shepherd Memorial Park, by Pastor Tommy Turner. The family is at the home.
