James Baldwin

James Edward "Big Joe" Baldwin, 65, of Spartanburg, SC, died Thursday, April 7, 2016 at his home. Born July 31, 1950, in Norton, VA, he was the son of the late Troy Franklin Baldwin and Ruby Mae Vernon Baldwin. Mr. Baldwin was a volunteer firefighter for Cowpens and Converse Fire Departments. He was a member of Calvary Baptist Church-Cowpens, SC and employed with Price Brothers Construction. Survivors include his daughter, Tammy Jameson (Vernon); grandson, Shawn Moore; sister, Elaine Poole; and nephew, Ricky Gore, all of Cowpens, SC. Visitation will be 2:00-2:45 PM Monday, April 11, 2016, at Cowpens Calvary Baptist Church, 451 Pleasant Valley Rd., Spartanburg, SC 29307. Funeral services will follow at 3:00 PM, at the church, conducted by the Rev. Henry Coley. Burial will be in the church cemetery. Memorials may be made to Converse Fire Department, PO Box 160, Converse, SC 29329. The family is at their respective homes.
