James Bailey, Sr.

James Richard Bailey, Sr., 67, of 191 Nott Street, Arcadia, died Sunday, February 13, 2011 at his home. Born May 24, 1943 in Rutherfordton, NC, he was the son of the late Richard Hoyle and Nellie Greene Bailey. Mr. Bailey was a member of Davis Memorial Baptist Church and employed in commercial construction. Survivors include his wife, Mildred Bryant Bailey; three grandchildren, Jessee James Bailey, Noah Paul Bailey, and Matthew Terry Brewington; a daughter-in-law, Christy Bartlett Bailey of Greer; two sisters, Louise Henderson of Campobello and Sybil Sexton of Grover, NC; and two brothers, Steve Bailey of Campobello and Eddie Bailey of Spartanburg. He was predeceased by a son, James Richard Bailey, Jr.; two brothers, Hoyle Lee Bailey and Ronnie Bailey; and a sister, Diane Rayburn. Visitation will be 6:00-8:00 PM Tuesday, February 15, 2011 at Floyd's Greenlawn Chapel. Graveside services will be at 1:00 PM Wednesday, February 16, 2011 in Ft. Prince Memorial Gardens, Wellford, SC, conducted by the Rev. Charles Hall. Memorials may be made to the American Heart Association, 3535 Pelham Road, Suite 101, Greenville, SC 29615.
