Jake Peeler

Hunter Jake Peeler, 18, of Woodruff, SC, died Sunday, August 24, 2014, following an automobile accident. Born September 28, 1995, in Spartanburg, SC, he was the son of Edward Jason Peeler of Woodruff, SC, and Maranda Nicole Edwards Walker of Spartanburg, SC. A 2014 graduate of Dorman High School, Jake was a registered cosmetologist and attended Friendship and Drayton Baptist Churches. He loved Halloween movies, drawing, writing, and helping others feel special by styling their hair. In addition to his parents, he is survived by his stepmother, Sandy Peeler of the home; stepfather, Charles Granger of Spartanburg, SC; paternal grandparents, Ann and Edward Peeler of Pauline, SC; paternal great-grandmother, Thelma Pettit of Inman, SC; maternal grandparents, Vickie and Carl Suttles of Spartanburg, SC; stepbrothers and stepsisters, Matthew Conyers (Ashley) of Enoree, SC, Samantha Wood (Reide) of Roebuck, SC, Charles William Granger of Boiling Springs, SC, and Katherin Nicole Zimmerman of California; uncles, Brent Peeler (Shana) of Pauline, SC, and Jeff Edwards (Patricia) of Greenwood, SC; and cousins, Carter Peeler and Caden Peeler, both of Pauline, SC; nephews, Noah Conyers and Jace Conyers, both of Enoree, SC; niece, Cyleigh Bailey and of Enoree, SC, and Conyer Wood of Roebuck, SC. He was predeceased by his maternal great-grandmother, Mamie Burns; paternal great-grandmother, Lou Ellen Steelman; paternal grandfather, Roy Edwards; and paternal great-grandfather, Bill Pettit. Visitation will be 6:00-8:00 PM Wednesday, August 27, 2014, at Floyd's Greenlawn Chapel, 2075 E. Main St., Spartanburg, SC 29307. Funeral services will be conducted at 2:00 PM, Thursday, August 28, 2014, at Floyd's Greenlawn Chapel, by the Rev. Brian P. Harris and the Rev. Barry L. Snead. Burial will be in Greenlawn Memorial Gardens, 1300 Fernwood-Glendale Rd., Spartanburg, SC 29307.
