Jack Lowe

Jack Lowe, 80, of Spartanburg, SC, died Tuesday, September 5, 2017, at Spartanburg Regional Hospice Home. Born November 30, 1936, in Pickens, SC, he was the son of the late Luna and Alma Chappell Lowe. Jack loved his family and enjoyed fishing and cooking for them. He also enjoyed dirt track racing, NASCAR, and was co-owner of a race car with his brother. He retired from Vulcan Material and was of the Baptist faith. Survivors include his wife of 29 years, Betty Watson Lowe; son, Steve Lowe (Kathy) of Pacolet, SC; step-children, Terry Ridings of Inman, SC, Tommy Ridings of Polkton, NC, and Joyce Steading (Dale) of Moore, SC; grandchildren, Kaila Lowe, Tyler Lowe, Casey Lewis, Justin Cannon, Lisa Harris, Bryan Crow, James Coffey, and Daniel Ridings; six great-grandchildren; brothers, Don Lowe (Carolyn) of Pacolet, SC and James Lowe (Evelyn) of Rosman, NC; sister, Joyce Brown (Leon) of Rutherfordton, NC; and numerous nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by brothers, Joe Lowe and Harrison Lowe; and sister, Julie Brown. Visitation will be 11:00 AM-12:15 PM Friday, September 8, 2017, at Floyd's Pacolet Chapel, 141 Memorial Drive, Pacolet, SC 29372. A graveside service will follow at 1:00 PM in Boiling Springs Memorial Gardens, 4081 Hwy 9 N, Boiling Springs, SC 29316, conducted by the Rev. Leon Brown. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Spartanburg Regional Hospice Home, 686 Jeff Davis Drive, Spartanburg, SC 29303.
