Jack Davis

Jack Davis, 82, of Spartanburg, died Sunday, December 26, 2010. Born May 9, 1928 in Lyman, SC, he was the son of the late Irby Joe Davis and Lila Mae Huntsinger Davis Petteus and husband of the late Peggy Jean Kimbrell Davis. He was retired from Hayne Shop and the U.S. Postal Service. He was a veteran of the U. S. Navy, a member of the Bethel United Methodist Church, Fairforest Masonic Lodge, and a member of the Hejaz Shrine. Survivors include a daughter, Tena West and husband Steve, a grandson, Steven Ashley West, and a great-granddaughter, Katelin Renee West all of Lyman; and a sister, Juanita Kern of Spartanburg. He was predeceased by his brothers Douglas James Davis and Irby Joe Davis, Jr. Cryptside services will be held Wednesday, December 29, 2010 at 11:00 a.m. at Floyd's Greenlawn Memorial Gardens Heritage Chapel Mausoleum conducted by the Rev. David E. Nichols followed by Masonic Rites. Visitation will be prior to and following the service. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Bethel United Methodist Church, 245 South Church Street, Spartanburg, SC 29306; or Cancer Centers of the Carolinas, 120 Dillon Drive, Spartanburg, SC 29307. The family will be at the home of his daughter at 173 Green Acres Street, Lyman.
