Jack Coyle, Sr.

Jack Lipscomb Coyle, Sr., 82, of Cowpens, SC, went home to be with the Lord on Wednesday, September 14, 2016, at Spartanburg Medical Center. Born November 25, 1933, in Cherokee County, SC, he was the son of the late Benjamin Franklin Coyle and Maybell Sanders Coyle. A member of Cowpens First Baptist Church, Mr. Coyle loved his family and served as a Sunday School teacher and deacon. He was a U. S. Air Force veteran, retired as a salesman with Life of Georgia Insurance, was a substitute teacher in District 3, and also a former member of Cowpens Lions Club. Surviving are his wife of 62 years, Shirley Keenan Coyle; son, Jack Coyle, Jr. of Gaffney, SC; grandchildren, Chris Coyle (Amy), Melissa Acton, Amanda Hill (Chris), Alicia Rodefeld, Lacey Coyle, Jackie Coyle, Jessica Sharpe (Ronny), Jacob Snapp (Kimberly), and Kelly Snapp; 12 great-grandchildren, including Landry, Avery, and Wyatt; and brother, Mickey Coyle. In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by a daughter, Kimberly Coyle Snapp; grandson, Joshua Snapp; and brothers, B. A. Coyle, Odell Coyle, Don Coyle, and Leroy Coyle. Visitation will be 1:00-2:15 PM Friday, September 16, 2016, at Cowpens First Baptist Church, 108 W. Church St., Cowpens, SC 29330. Funeral services will follow at 2:30 PM, at the church, conducted by the Rev. Dr. Bill Westafer and the Rev. Dr. Ron Culbertson. Burial will be in Daniel Morgan Memorial Gardens, 175 Cemetery St., Cowpens, SC 29330. The family is at the home of Shirley Coyle.
