Jack Donald Walker, 65, of Spartanburg, died Sunday, August 16, 2009, at his home. Born May 17, 1944, in Spartanburg, SC, he was the son of Hazel Walker and the late Jack Walker and the husband of the late Judy Crain Walker. A graduate of Wofford College, he was a counselor with Family Court, a former director of the Ellen Hines Smith Girls Home, and retired from various food service industries. He was a member of the First Baptist Church of Spartanburg and the Koinonia Life Group Sunday School Class, a Mobile Meals volunteer, a former director and board member of the Spartanburg Little Theatre, a former member of the Spartanburg Jaycees, and a U.S. Air Force Veteran of the Vietnam War. Surviving in addition to his mother is a son, Marty Walker, a daughter, Elizabeth Walker, two sisters, Ann McAbee and Becky Walker, three nieces, and five nephews, all of Spartanburg. Visitation will be 6:00-8:00 p.m. Tuesday, August 18, 2009, at Floyd's Greenlawn Chapel. Funeral services will be held at 4:00 p.m. Wednesday, August 19, 2009, at Floyd's Greenlawn Chapel conducted by the Rev. Bill Adams and the Rev. Sal Barone. Burial will be in Greenlawn Memorial Gardens. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Mobile Meals Service, P. O. Box 461, Spartanburg, SC 29304. The family is at 202 Aberdeen Lane, Spartanburg.
