Isabelle Franke DeGraaf, 94, of Spartanburg, formerly of St. Petersburg, FL, died Wednesday, August 25, 2010, at Eden Terrace. Born May 26, 1916 in Cranston, RI, she is the daughter of the late Henry Cleveland and Blanche Isabelle Bangs Franke and the wife of the late Leland Hugh DeGraaf, Jr. A retired mortgage banker with Florida Federal Savings and Loan, she attended Sweetbriar College, was a member of First Presbyterian Church of St. Petersburg, FL, and a member of P.E.O., St. Petersburg, FL Chapter. She was an avid traveler, a seamstress and enjoyed crocheting, knitting, and needlepoint. Survivors include three sons, Leland H. DeGraaf, III (Linda) of Omaha, NE, Henry C. DeGraaf and Robert A. DeGraaf (Anita) of St. Petersburg, FL; a daughter, Jane DeGraaf Wise (Bruce) of Boiling Springs, SC; eight grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; and a sister, Mercie Jeannette Franke Dunfee of Maine. Visitation will be 5:30 p.m. until 7:30 p.m. Friday, August 27, 2010 at Floyd's Greenlawn Chapel. Funeral services will be held at a later date in St. Petersburg, FL, with burial in Royal Palm Cemetery. Memorials may be made to Alzheimer's Association, SC Chapter, 901 South Pine Street , Spartanburg, SC 29302; or Winyah/Amedisys Hospice Care, 818 East Main Street, Spartanburg, SC 29302; or First Presbyterian Church of St. Petersburg, 701 Beach Drive N.E., St. Petersburg, Fl 33701.
