Isabella Tipton

Isabella Guerrant Robinson Tipton, 81, formerly of 645 Palmetto Street in Spartanburg, went home to be with the Lord on Monday, June 7, 2010 at Magnolia Manor after an extended illness. Born May 8, 1929 in Spartanburg, SC, she was the daughter of the late Orlando Wemple and Isabella Wilson Guerrant. She was a graduate of Brenau University in Georgia and a loving member of Central Church of Christ. While raising her three sons alone, she worked at WSPA-TV for a number of years being promoted to Promotions Director. She was very instrumental in "making a stand" against illegal drugs in Spartanburg. Surviving are her three sons, James S. P. Robinson, III, Daniel W. Robinson and wife Helen, all of Boiling Springs, and James C. Tipton of Virginia; six grandchildren, Jeremy James Robinson, Anna Robinson, Luke Robinson, Chad Tipton, Codi Tipton and Allison Tipton; one great-grandchild, Tristyn Robinson. Visitation will be 3:00-3:45 p.m. Thursday, June 10, 2010 at Floyd's Greenlawn Chapel. Funeral services will follow at 4:00 p.m. at the Chapel, conducted by Minister David Pharr. Burial will be in Greenlawn Memorial Gardens. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Hospice of the Carolina Foothills, 130 Forest Glen Drive, Columbus, NC 28722; or to Central Church of Christ, 2052 North Church Street, Spartanburg, SC 29302. The family is at the home of her son, Danny Robinson, 302 Shoally Ridge Drive, Boiling Springs, SC 29316.
