Isaac Jasper Wofford, 82, of Wellford, went home to be with his Lord on Sunday, August 5, 2012. Born September 11, 1929, in Spartanburg County, he was the son of the late Charlie G. Wofford Sr. and Evie Eleanor Allen Wofford. Mr. Wofford was the oldest member of Una First Baptist Church, having formerly served as deacon and treasurer. In the past, he was also a Spartanburg Soup Kitchen volunteer, a Boy Scout leader, and a tutor for AWARE. He was the oldest member of his A.A. group and would have received his 34-year Sobriety Chip this Saturday evening. A U. S. Army Veteran, he also worked as a computer programmer, an electrician, and retired from CarQuest. He is survived by two daughters, Martha Blanton and Donna Wofford, both of Wellford; two sisters, Christine W. Woodsby of Spartanburg and Nan W. Coates (James) of Inman; one sister-in-law, Mildred M. Wofford of Wellford; a niece, Ann W. Compton of Wellford; two grandsons, Byron Blanton (Becky) of Una and Robbie Wofford of Wellford; one granddaughter, Roxanne Wofford of Spartanburg; four great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild. He was predeceased by an infant son, Timothy Isaac Wofford; three brothers, Robert Phillip, Charles Allen, and Charlie Guy Wofford; and one sister, Eleanor Rose Wofford Eubanks. The family will receive friends 1:30-2:45 PM Saturday, August 11, 2012, at Una First Baptist Church. Funeral services will follow at 3:00 PM, at the church, the Rev. Phil Raines officiating. Burial with military rites by the SC State Guard Honors Team will be in Fort Prince Memorial Gardens in Wellford.
