Iris Powell

Iris Robbins Powell, of Pine Lake Court, wife of the late Charles C. Powell, passed away on Saturday, October 10, 2015, at Spartanburg Medical Center, following a brief illness. She was the daughter of the late Buren and Mamie Robbins. Mrs. Powell was a legal secretary in the law offices of Judge Paul M. Moore and also for the office of T. Louis Cox before retirement. She was of the Methodist faith. She is survived by a son, Ashley Powell and a daughter, Beth Powell, both of Spartanburg, SC. In addition to her parents and husband, she was predeceased by a son, Robert "Buck" Powell. A private family memorial service honoring her life will be held on Saturday, October 17, 2015. In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorials be made to the Cancer Association of Spartanburg and Cherokee Counties, PO Box 1582, Spartanburg, SC 29304; or the Spartanburg Humane Society, 150 Dexter Road, Spartanburg, SC 29303.
