Iris R. Branen, 87, of Moore, and former 30-year resident of Wilmington, NC, died Wednesday, June 6, 2012, at RoseCrest-Inman. Born October 10, 1924, in Spartanburg, she was the daughter of the late William Britt and Cassie Lee Seay Robertson. She was predeceased by her first husband, Ralph H. Snow who passed away in 1965, and her second husband of 38 years, Harry Irvin Branen. A graduate of Fairforest High School and Robinson Business College, Mrs. Branen was a former employee of Noland Company in Spartanburg and Industrial Piping Supply in Wilmington, NC. She was a member of St. John's Lutheran Church in Spartanburg, a former member of St. Paul Lutheran Church in Wilmington, and a member of WELCA-Women of the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America. Surviving is her brother, Jerry Franklin Robertson and his wife Dean of Shelby, NC; and stepdaughter, Nancy G. Junkins and her husband Haskell of Boiling Springs, SC. She was predeceased by her brother, William Britt Robertson, Jr.; stepson, Marvin J. Snow; and stepdaughter, Sybil Lewis. Visitation will be 2:00-2:45 PM Friday, June 8, 2012, at St. John's Lutheran Church Fellowship Hall, 415 S. Pine Street, Spartanburg, SC 29302. Funeral services will follow at 3:00 PM, at the church, conducted by Pastor Emily Edenfield and Pastor Mike Shackelford. Burial will be in Nazareth Presbyterian Church Cemetery, Moore, SC.
