Irene Bradley Smith, 86, of Spartanburg, died Wednesday, May 26, 2010 at Spartanburg Regional Medical Center. Born September 26, 1923 in Cherokee, NC, she was the daughter of the late Morgan J. and Mary Jane Dormire Bradley. She was a member of Westside Baptist Church and the Joy Sunday School class. Survivors include her husband, Edwin James Smith, Sr.; a daughter, Mary Jane S. Giles and husband Howard of Campobello; a son, Edwin James Smith, Jr. and wife Diana of Moore; sister, Catherine Sanders of Cherokee, NC; five grandchildren, Robin Bennett of Reidville, Karen Callot of Simpsonville, Mandy Nelson of Moore, Sherry Rigouard of Raleigh, NC, and Travis Giles of Charlotte, NC; and six great-grandchildren. She was predeceased by a sister, Rachel Sneed; and a brother, Morgan J. Bradley. Visitation will be 1:30-2:30 p.m. Saturday May 29, 2010 at Floyd's Greenlawn Chapel. Cryptside services will follow at 3:00 p.m. at Heritage Chapel Mausoleum, conducted by Pastor Allen McKinney. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Cherokee Boys Club, 52 Boys Club Loop Road, Cherokee, NC 28719. The family is at their respective homes.
