Irene Pettit

Irene Duckett Pettit, 86, of Cowpens, SC, departed to her heavenly home on Wednesday, December 17, 2014. She was born third of 16 children to the late Guy Jerome and Bessie Anderson Duckett on September 17, 1928, in Union, SC, and was the widow of Paul L. Pettit, Sr. Mrs. Pettit was a wonderful mother and grandmother. She was a member of Central Baptist Church in Cowpens. Survivors include four children, Carolyn Bell (Buster) of Spartanburg, Mildred Davis (Chuck) and Paulette Bridges (Shaun), all of Cowpens, and Paul L. Pettit Jr. (Cindy) of Inman; five grandchildren, Kori (Wayne), Jade (Ek), Meghan (Brian), Molly Grace, and Daniel; six great-grandchildren, Nick, Bella, Haven, Landon, Anthony, and Eli; and sister, Mildred Gaydos of Cowpens. In addition to her parents and husband, she was predeceased by 14 brothers and sisters. Visitation will be 1:00-2:45 PM Friday, December 19, 2014, at Floyd's Greenlawn Chapel, 2075 E. Main St., Spartanburg, SC 29307. Funeral services will follow at 3:00, at the Chapel, conducted by the Rev. Henry Coley. Burial will be in Daniel Morgan Memorial Gardens, 175 Cemetery St., Cowpens, SC 29330.
