Ira Collier Ii

Ira Benjamin "Ben" Collier II, 65, of Anderson, SC, died Monday, April 6, 2020, at Spartanburg Medical Center. Born June 1, 1954, in Atlanta, GA, he was the son of the late Kirby Donald Collier Sr. and Betty Joyce Jones Collier. A Christian and family man at heart, Ben was an avid hunter, trout fisherman, outdoorsman, and also held a black belt in Tae Kwon Do. He earned an Associate Degree in Electrical Engineering from Tri-County Technical College and retired from Robert Bosch LLC as a facilities maintenance engineer after 45 years of service. Survivors include his daughters, Susan Arwen Collier (David Lee Shytles) of Boiling Springs, SC and Kayla Ann Collier of Union, SC; sister, Vickie Collier Fennell of Anderson, SC; brothers, Kirby Donald Collier Jr. (Valecia) and Mark Andrew Collier Sr. (Wendy), all of Newnan, GA; friend and the mother of his children, Cindy Weathers Wofford; friend and former wife, Sharon Collins; and a large number of nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by a son, Ira Benjamin "Benny" Collier III. A private graveside service will be conducted in Forest Lawn Memorial Park, Anderson, SC by The Rev. Dustin Madala. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Alzheimer's Association, 901 South Pine Street, Spartanburg, SC 29302.
