Illa Mitchell

Illa Arrendale Mitchell, 91, of Lyman, died Monday, September 27, 2010 at Ashlan Village. Born February 23, 1919 in Dahlonega, GA, she was the daughter of the late Augustus and Lovie Beck Arrendale and the wife of the late James Elmer Mitchell. She was a member of Mount Zion Baptist Church. Survivors include a daughter, Gayle Mitchell Morris and husband Steve of Inman; two grandsons, J. David Morris of Spartanburg and O. Keith Morris and wife Jennifer of Hudson, OH; and two great-grandsons, Mitchell David Morris and Matthew Keith Morris of Hudson, OH. She was predeceased by eleven brothers and sisters. Visitation will be 2:00 PM to 2:45 PM Friday, October 1, 2010 at Floyd's Greenlawn Chapel. Funeral services will follow at 3:00 PM at the Chapel, conducted by the Rev. Monty King. Entombment will be in Greenlawn Memorial Gardens Heritage Chapel Mausoleum. The family is at the home of her daughter, Gayle Morris.
