Ida Mae Cartee, 81, of Inman, died Thursday, May 26, 2011, at Golden Age Nursing Home-Inman. Born September 28, 1929, in Spartanburg County, she was the daughter of the late Lucius Lee and Leila Annie Mae Alverson Edwards and wife of the late Belton Cartee. Ida Mae was a member of Holston Creek Baptist Church and a salesperson at Roses Discount Store. Survivors include three sons, Doug Cartee (Debra) of Inman, Mike Cartee (Faye) of Blacksburg, and Jerry Cartee (Debbie) of Campobello; four daughters, Donna Lee (Denny) of Inman, Libby Richards (Boney) of Inman, Vickie Staggs of Spartanburg, and Cathy Cartee of Ohio; three sisters, Rachel Lanford of Connecticut, Evelyn Mosley of Landrum, and Nancy Garrett of Prosperity; fourteen grandchildren; and fifteen great-grandchildren. She was predeceased by a brother, Robert V. Edwards. Visitation will be 6:00-8:00 PM Saturday, May 28, 2011, at Floyd's Boiling Springs Chapel. Funeral services will be at 2:00 PM Sunday, May 29, 2011, at Floyd's Boiling Springs Chapel, conducted by the Rev. Donnan Lawson and the Rev. Mark Cannon. Burial will be in Good Shepherd Memorial Park. Memorials may be made to Hospice of the Carolina Foothills, PO Box 127, Landrum, SC 29356. The family is at the home of her son, Doug & Debra Cartee, 1411 Hickory Nut Rd., Inman, SC 29349.
