Hulon Jack Smith, 82, of Spartanburg died Friday, August 5, 2011 at Spartanburg Regional Hospice Home. Born May 24, 1929 in Landrum, he was the son of the late Worth Albert and Allie Pruitt Smith. He was first married to the late Anna Ruth Smith. He was owner of Hulon J. Smith & Son's Plumbing Contractor, a member of First Baptist Church of Spartanburg, a Master Plumber, Master Mason of the St. John Lodge, and a Shriner. Survivors include his wife, Patricia Jane Cole Smith, two daughters, Martha (Allan) Kean of Houston, TX and Gloria (Larry) Creech of Fuquay Vornia, NC; two sons, Eddie (Cathy) Smith and Mike Smith both of Spartanburg; nine Grandchildren; twelve great-grandchildren; four sisters, Dorothy Bradley and Marcel Green both of Spartanburg, Beulah Weaver of Lyman, and Clara Bassett of Loxahatchee, FL; and Little Lady his pet Pomeranian. He was predeceased by two brothers, Franklin Smith and J. B. Smith; and three sisters, Marie Smith, Beatrice Evans, and Vivian Harrelson. Visitation will be 10:00-10:45 AM Monday, August 8, 2011 at Floyd's Greenlawn Chapel. Funeral services will follow at 11:00 AM in the chapel, conducted by the Rev. Dr. Donald J. Wilton, the Rev. Dr. Alastair Walker, and the Rev. Bill Adams. Burial will be in Sunset Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Piedmont Hospice, ATTN, Tracy Bennett, 1865 East main Street, Suite F, Duncan, SC 29334 or Spartanburg Regional Hospice Home, 686 Jeff Davis Drive, Spartanburg, SC 29303, or to the charity of one's choice.
