Howard Nelmes

Howard George Nelmes, 69, of Spartanburg, SC, died Thursday, October 23, 2014, at Spartanburg Regional Hospice Home. Born November 6, 1944, in Hazleton, PA, he was the son of the late Howard George Nelmes and Martha Elizabeth Goach Nelmes. A veteran of the Army National Guard, Mr. Nelmes was retired from Crown Cork & Seal, Inc. after 32 years of service. He was of the Methodist faith. Surviving is his beloved wife of 48 years, Martha Gayle Jackson Nelmes; sons, Jeff Nelmes of Rutherfordton, NC, and Todd Nelmes of Seattle, WA; grandson, Hunter Nelmes of Spartanburg, SC; brother, Gilbert Nelmes of Washington DC; and sister, Nancy Brown of Battlement Mesa, CO. The family will conduct a memorial service at 2:00 PM Saturday, October 25, 2014, at Cudd Memorial Baptist Church, 1301 Boiling Springs Rd., Spartanburg, SC 29303, with Chaplain Katy Harbin officiating.
