Howard Jones

Howard Martin Jones, 71, of Spartanburg, SC, died Saturday, September 28, 2019 at his home. Born January 21, 1948 in Savannah, GA, he was the son of the late James Martin and Christine Seckinger Jones and the husband of Norma Eubanks Jones for 45 years. Mr. Jones was a Veteran of The Army National Guard and received his Masters from Clemson University. Marty was retired from the USDA. He was a Scout Master in Raleigh, NC Troop No. 33, and received the "Order of the Arrow." He was a member of Spartanburg Newcomers for nine years. He loved to read and play cards. Survivors include his son, Benjamin Martin Jones (Beth) of Crozet, VA and his daughter, Kelly Jones Halsey (Allison) of Belmar, NJ; grandchildren, Daniel Martin Jones, Summer Grace Jones, Caleb William Jones, Lucas Patrick Halsey and Ellis Reagan Halsey; his brother, Charles Wingard Jones (Gayle) of Highlands Ranch, CO; and his sister, Patricia Jones Dallen of Garnett, SC; and his special fur baby, Cooper. He was also predeceased by a sister, Sandra Lee Jones. A Celebration of Life service will be at 11:00 AM Friday, October 4, 2019 at Floyd's Greenlawn Chapel, 2075 East Main Street, Spartanburg, SC 29307, conducted by The Rev. Andy Case. Burial with Military Rites will follow in Greenlawn Memorial Gardens, 1300 Fernwood-Glendale Road, Spartanburg, SC 29307.
