Howard "Rock" "Cowboy" Henderson, 77, of Spartanburg, died Friday, December 12, 2014 at his home. Born March 20, 1937 in Cherokee, SC, he was the son of the late Wilburn and Evelyn Raines Henderson. Mr. Henderson was a member of Thompson Chapel Baptist Church and the owner of Howard's Landscaping. Survivors include a daughter, Kathy Etta Cleapor of Spartanburg; a son, Tim Wright of Spartanburg; six brothers, Boyd Henderson, Raymond Henderson, Joe Henderson, Carl Henderson, Sam Henderson, and Ronnie Henderson; three sisters, Shirley Lister, Hazel Gossett, and Frances Carroll; two grandchildren, Shane Cleapor (Julie), and Josh Cleapor (Mandi); and six great-grandchildren, Will Cleapor, JD Cleapor, Austin Pittillo, Andrew Pittillo, Logan Lane, and Avery Lane; and a special friend, Bonnie Love. He was formerly married to Sarah Coggins. Mr. Henderson was predeceased by brothers Bill Henderson and James Henderson. Visitation will be 6:00-8:00 PM Monday, December 15, 2014 at Floyd's Greenlawn Chapel, 2075 E. Main St., Spartanburg, SC 29307. A funeral service will be held 2:00 PM Tuesday, December 16, 2014 at Thompson Chapel Baptist Church, 990 Thompson Chapel Rd., Spartanburg, SC 29307, conducted by the Rev. David Frost and the Rev. Shane Cleapor. Burial will be in Greenlawn Memorial Gardens. The family is at the home of a grandson, Shane Cleapor, 445 River Dr., Spartanburg, SC 29307.
