Horst Klausing

Horst Klausing, 78, of Spartanburg, SC, died Monday, September 14, 2020, at his home. Born October 23, 1941 in Leer, Germany, he was the son of the late Hermann and Foline Schoone Klausing. Owner of Horst's Automotive, Mr. Klausing was a member of AMVETS (American Veterans) and Loyal Order of Moose, Port Jefferson, NY Lodge 1379. He loved nature, wood working, and bird watching. Survivors include his wife of 57 years, Heide Strahmann Klausing; daughters, Britta Puetter (Jens) of Spartanburg, SC and Sylke Schade (Philip) of Oyster Bay, NY; grandchildren, Cody, Jenna, Lucas and Anya; brother, Gerd Klausing (Helga); and sister-in-laws, Gisela Klausing and Marianne Klausing all of Leer, Germany. In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by brothers, Max Klausing and Bernd Klausing. Visitation will be 2:00-2:45 PM Friday, September 18, 2020, at Floyd's North Church Street Chapel, 235 N. Church Street, Spartanburg, SC 29306 with services following at 3:00 PM conducted by Chaplain Katie Boykin Harbin. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Spartanburg Regional Hospice Home, 686 Jeff Davis Drive, Spartanburg, SC 29303. The family is at the home of Heide Klausing.
