Homer Lee Atkins, 83, of Pittsburgh, PA, formerly of Spartanburg, SC, passed away peacefully at St. Margaret's Hospital on Sunday, August 3, 2014, with his best friend and son-in-law Mark Delahunty by his side. Born October 23, 1930, in Spartanburg, he was the son of the late Willard and Halle May Campbell Atkins. He was preceded in death by his wife, Peggy Sprouse Atkins in 2005. Surviving are his three daughters, Melanie Vaughn, Tammy Flowers, Teresa Delahunty and their respective spouses, along with four grandchildren and several great-grandchildren. Homer was a U. S. Army veteran of the Korean War and was a locksmith in Charlotte, NC for many years. Funeral services will be conducted at 11:00 AM Thursday, August 7, 2014, at Floyd's Greenlawn Chapel, 2075 E. Main St., Spartanburg, SC 29307, by the Rev. Dr. Keith Taylor. Burial will be in Greenlawn Memorial Gardens.
