Hilde Huentemann

Hilde Maria Huentemann, 77, of Spartanburg, died Thursday, November 8, 2012, at her home. Born September 13, 1935, in Dettingen/Main, Germany, she was a daughter of the late August and Bertha Stock Pfeifer and wife of 46 years to the late Heinz Josef Huentemann. She was owner of Spartan Transit Supply Corp. and a member of St. Paul the Apostle Catholic Church. Hilde was an avid gardener and lover of animals. She enjoyed her koi pond and her dog, Beni, and African Grey parrot, Maus. Survivors include a daughter, Susanne Bettina Huentemann of Spartanburg; sister, Lieselotte Fuchs of Karlstein/Main, Germany; nephews, Frank-Olaf Deiters of Heppenheim, Germany, and Johannes Rathgens of Kappeln, Germany. Special friends include families of Hermann Lentke of Dieburg, Germany, Ernst Schober of Bochum, Germany, and Peter Schmalenbach of Gross-Krotzenburg, Germany; Frederick W. Alexander and Les Pence, both of Chesnee, SC; Julia Derrick of Inman, SC; Christopher J. Couchell, Gaston Haywood Sr., John R. Watts, all of Spartanburg; Colleen Kassa of Birmingham, AL; Robert Ryman and Malinda Young, of Spartanburg. Hilde had many more relatives in Europe and friends in the United States. She was predeceased by her son, Frank Heinrich Huentemann and brother, Karl-Heinz Pfeifer. A memorial service will be private.
