Herbert Hawkins Jr.

Herbert Caris Hawkins Jr., 65, of Inman, SC, died Sunday, December 31, 2017, at Spartanburg Regional Hospice Home. Born November 20, 1952, in Danbury, CT, he was the son of Carol Elizabeth Cover Hawkins of Danbury, CT and the late Herbert Caris Hawkins Sr. A US Army Veteran, Mr. Hawkins was a retired Police Officer with the Danbury Police Department having served 27 years. He was a member of Central Christian Church and the Elks Lodge in Danbury, CT. Survivors include his wife, Susan "Sue" Kautz Hawkins; children, Karen Kochies (Bill) of Willow Springs, NC, Jennifer Hawkins, Portland, CT, Brian Hawkins of Danbury, CT, and Matt Roberts (Kelley) of Thomaston, CT; sisters, Cheryl Marsh (Kenneth) of Danbury, CT, Donna Gantier, Benedicta, ME, Ruth "Annie" Goslee (Jeff) of Sierra Vista, AZ, Debra Surovy (James), Darlene "Gail" Precci and Terri Hawkins all of Danbury, CT and Susie Stevens of New Milford, CT; and grandchildren, Nick Roberts and Tanner Roberts both of Thomaston, CT, Elaina Roberts of Naugatuck, CT, Ruslan Kochies, Mason Kochies and Braden Kochies all of Willow Spring, NC. Visitation will be 4:00-5:30 PM Thursday, January 4, 2018, at Floyd's Boiling Springs Chapel, 4161 Hwy 9 North, Boiling Springs, SC 29316. A memorial service will follow at 6:00 PM at the Chapel conducted by the Rev. Dr. Keith Taylor.
