Herbert Allen

Herbert Carter Allen, 86, of Boiling Springs, SC, went home to be with the Lord on Monday, December 1, 2014, at 8:46 AM. Born November 3, 1928, in Spartanburg County, he was the son of the late Hiram Jasper and Lottie Mae Chandler Allen. Mr. Allen was a veteran of the U. S. Army and Air Force. He was the retired owner-operator of Allen's Plumbing and a member of Southside Free Will Baptist Church. Survivors include his beloved wife of 59 years, Peggy Hatchette Allen; son, Wayne Allen of Boiling Springs; grandchildren, Heather Turnage (Brian), Clayton Allen, Devin Allen, and Trey Allen (Taylor Sheridan); and great-grandchildren, Lilli Turnage and Kady Turnage. In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by two sons, Michael Allen and David Allen. A graveside service will be conducted at 1:00 PM Wednesday, December 3, 2014, in Boiling Springs Memorial Gardens, 4081 Hwy 9 N, Boiling Springs, SC 29316, by the Rev. Henry Guyton. The family will receive friends at 125 Oak Drive, Boiling Springs, SC, following the service.
